Mr. Sewer Begins Franchising Nationwide
02/28/2010
PEORIA, IL -- Mr. Sewer made its debut as a national franchise during the recent Pumper & Cleaner Environmental Expo in Louisville, Kentucky.
The franchise concept is based on the original Mr. Sewer concept that began in 1982 in Peoria, IL. "We took our Peoria business model and added many upgrades to make it franchise-friendly," stated Winborn. "Our service vans are equipped with notebook computers, GPS systems and wireless Internet. This greatly improves response time, a critical factor in this business." The company logo features a caped man with a red "S" emblazoned on his chest and a plunger by his side.
Mr. Sewer is offering significant incentives to entice prospective franchisees. "Many small operators serving medium-size metropolitan areas have been ignored by franchising companies, and many larger cities need another offering to service those areas as well," said Chief Operations Officer Martin Winborn. "We are here to fill that need in the marketplace."
He added that while many existing contractors can benefit from Mr. Sewer's branding approach, only a fraction of them will be awarded territories. "We have a set of standards that all prospective Mr. Sewer franchisees must meet. We want to recruit the best people who are already in business and help them develop a loyal base of repeat and referral customers."
Bruce Winborn acknowledges that the business is for hard workers committed to the trade. "This is a very demanding job," he said. "I've done it all myself - I still get out there and get dirty. I'll bet I'm the only corporation president out there who wears overalls."
